God, our Father, protector of the poor and defender of the widow and orphan, you called your priest, Blessed Michael McGivney, to be an apostle of Christian family life and to lead the young to the generous service of their neighbor. Through the example of his life and virtue, may we follow your Son, Jesus Christ, more closely, fulfilling his commandment of charity and building up his Body which is the Church. Let the inspiration of your servant prompt us to greater confidence in your love so that we may continue his work of caring for the needy and the outcast. We humbly ask that you glorify Blessed Michael McGivney on earth according to the design of your holy will. Through his intercession, grant the favor I now present (here make your request). Through Christ our Lord Amen.

Essay contest at St. Ann School

The St. Ann Catholic Church Knights of Columbus recently held their annual essay and poster contest for students in grades K-8. After Mass on Friday, teachers of kindergarten through 2nd grade were awarded Barnes and Noble gift cards for the purchase of books for their classrooms. Dr. Ed Jackson presented gift cards and certificates to the winners of the essay contest (grades 3-8). Congratulations to Amelia, Cecelia, Madison, and Andrea! The theme of this year’s contest was “the greatest strengths of St. Ann School”. Dr. Jackson also judged the spelling bee for the school on Friday afternoon.

Family of the Month August

The Knights from time to time will be recognizing families from St Ann Parrish. Recognition is given to a selected parish family that models Christian family values and visibly lives them.

Congratulations to our first Family of the Month recipient, the Benander Family! Among many signs, you see this family worshipping together, the children are involved as altar servers, and mom ministers through scripture reading and music.

We look forward to recognizing many parish families that give their time and talent and model their Catholic Christian values for all to see.

March for Life 23/24

Event: Feed the Homeless

Description:

Knights meet at Salvation army kitchen on the 3rd Wednesday of the month around noon to prepare meals for homeless community of Fayetteville.

Leaders: St. Ann Alter Rosary Society.

Requirements:

Councils are required to collect a minimum of $500 or 1000 pounds of food for a parish or community food pantry. In addition, councils must contribute a minimum of 100 total man-hours in preparation/distribution/service of meals. Report activity using the Food for Families Refund and Plaque Application (#10057).

Holy Hour 23/24

St. Ann Feast Day

On Sunday July 30^th, 2023, Knights from our Council helped at the St. Ann Feast Day BBQ Picnic by cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.

The BBQ was a wonderful time for parish members to get together, relax and share a meal.

Over 200 parishioners attended, and the Knights were able to keep the hotdogs and hamburgers flowing smoothly.

Spiritual Reflection 23/24

A Weekend Retreat “Living your fourth quarter with God and with purpose,embracing what matters” Cost is $25 per person – includes fellowship, book, food, beverage, and discovery

Requirements:
