His commitment to capturing the essence of our worship services and sharing them online allows those unable to attend in person to stay connected with our parish family. Don’s efforts not only enhance our digital presence but also foster a sense of unity and inclusivity within our congregation.

The Knights from time to time will be recognizing families from St Ann Parrish. Recognition is given to a selected parish family that models Christian family values and visibly lives them.

Congratulations to our first Family of the Month recipient, the Benander Family! Among many signs, you see this family worshipping together, the children are involved as altar servers, and mom ministers through scripture reading and music.

We look forward to recognizing many parish families that give their time and talent and model their Catholic Christian values for all to see.

On Sunday July 30th, 2023, Knights from our Council helped at the St. Ann Feast Day BBQ Picnic by cooking hot dogs and hamburgers.

The BBQ was a wonderful time for parish members to get together, relax and share a meal.

Over 200 parishioners attended, and the Knights were able to keep the hotdogs and hamburgers flowing smoothly.

Our cooks (left to right) Terry Estep, Chris Kafel, Lela and Mick Lesniak. Off camera runner Kristina Kafel, and setup Crew Tom Dean, Todd Burnett, and Robert Gonzalez

Thank you to Elsie Sein and Don Bennett for the photos.

Brother Knight Michael Patterson is one of the key figures in St. Ann Neighborhood Youth Center (NYC). He has been the bus driver and tutor for local, at-risk children for more years than he can remember.

The NYC has been around since the mid 90’s.  It was started by the Daughters of Charity Under the leadership of Sister Joanne Goecke. They established the youth center to serve area neighborhood children who were considered at risk. This program paired at-risk children with volunteer tutors from the local community. The program offered after-school tutoring, as well as a hot meal and transportation home.

Knights and other volunteers from Alter Rosary Society  St. Ann Church packed up 174 chicken dinner meals with rice, green beans and a cookie, and served them to the homeless that come to the Salvation Army kitchen, those that are housed at The Lodge and the children at the St. Ann Neighborhood Youth Center.

We meet every third Wednesday of the month at the back door of the Salvation Army Kitchen (220 E Russel St.) to prepare and package meals for the homeless. We begin preparing the food at 12:00 pm and begin packaging the meals around 3:30pm for distributions that begin at 4:00 pm. If you would like to help out you can show up at the back door between 12pm and 4pm.

Unfortunately, we did not get the camera out until all the helpers were gone except the cleanup guy on pots and pans. The Knights meet at the Salvation Army Kitchen the third Wednesday of each month to help the Alter Rosary Society prepare the meals.
