Brother Knight Michael Patterson is one of the key figures in St. Ann Neighborhood Youth Center (NYC). He has been the bus driver and tutor for local, at-risk children for more years than he can remember.
The NYC has been around since the mid 90’s. It was started by the Daughters of Charity Under the leadership of Sister Joanne Goecke. They established the youth center to serve area neighborhood children who were considered at risk. This program paired at-risk children with volunteer tutors from the local community. The program offered after-school tutoring, as well as a hot meal and transportation home.
