Knights and other volunteers from Alter Rosary Society St. Ann Church packed up 174 chicken dinner meals with rice, green beans and a cookie, and served them to the homeless that come to the Salvation Army kitchen, those that are housed at The Lodge and the children at the St. Ann Neighborhood Youth Center.
We meet every third Wednesday of the month at the back door of the Salvation Army Kitchen (220 E Russel St.) to prepare and package meals for the homeless. We begin preparing the food at 12:00 pm and begin packaging the meals around 3:30pm for distributions that begin at 4:00 pm. If you would like to help out you can show up at the back door between 12pm and 4pm.
Unfortunately, we did not get the camera out until all the helpers were gone except the cleanup guy on pots and pans. The Knights meet at the Salvation Army Kitchen the third Wednesday of each month to help the Alter Rosary Society prepare the meals.
